Glycerin vs Soft FX: What Product is Right for You?

by Teryn Darling April 21, 2023

Do you know the difference between Soft FX and Glycerin? Do you know when to use each?

Soft FX was formulated by the Li Pigments Lab to work perfectly with all Li Pigment’s formulations as well as other pigment brands. The Glycerin available for purchase in our store is also made by Li Pigments from a high grade, Vegan and Kosher Glycerin. Li Pigments only sources their materials from reputable suppliers and ensures all materials are tested for purity.

If your pigment is too thick, or you prefer a thinner, loose pigment consider purchasing a bottle of Soft FX. A couple of drops of this dilution solution will help thin out your pigment to your liking! The intensity of a pigment can also be diluted using Soft FX; a few drops will help you achieve that soft, powdery effect for eyebrows, eyeliners, lips and areola work.

If your pigment is drying too fast, or you prefer wetter pigments, consider purchasing a bottle of Glycerin. Two or three drops of this in your pigment will help to keep it wetter longer! The intensity of the pigment won’t change with the added Glycerin, but the consistency will. Wetter pigments can be better for microbladers when doing a mask or soak.

Whether you’re a microblader or a machine artist, you need a bottle of Soft FX and a bottle of Glycerin in your toolbox. These products will help you work more efficiently and you know what I say: efficiency leads to versatility, and versatility leads to artistry.
